What is MCP?
MCP is a simple way to let your AI assistant talk to Xvantage. Instead of clicking through menus or copying data between tabs, you just ask in plain language — "what's the status of my last order?" or "create a quote for Acme for 50 licenses" — and the assistant handles it for you.
Think of it like USB‑C for AI: one connection, and your AI tool can reach into Xvantage for pricing, quotes, orders, invoices, and more. You plug in once, and it works.
How to get started
- Click Install within the MCP tile
- Fill out a brief intake form about what you're hoping to do
- An Ingram Micro representative reviews your goals with you and confirms MCP is a good fit
- You receive a unique MCP URL — paste it into your AI assistant and you're connected. No passwords, no OAuth setup, no Azure configuration required.
This same URL drops straight into agent frameworks like the Claude Agents SDK, OpenAI Assistants, LangChain, and LlamaIndex. You don’t need to study the Xvantage API docs — the MCP protocol exposes the tools directly, and tool discovery is automatic. Head to Quick start and Tool KBAs for what you need.

If the AI assistant or agent platform you use supports remote MCP servers, it'll work with Xvantage too — the list above is just the ones we’ve confirmed support MCP servers. Check your tool’s docs for “remote MCP” or “MCP server” support, and reach out through Get help if you want to confirm pairing.
