Xvantage Prerequisites (Done Once)

  • Submit intake form in the MCP tile (Integrations Hub).
  • Fit discussion: an Ingram Micro representative will meet with you to confirm MCP is the right fit.
  • Provisioning (Ingram Micro): if approved, Ingram Micro will create two MCP servers for your tenant: Technology Solutions (TS) and Cloud.

Credentials Required

Provide credentials via secure email to bind each server to your tenant and enable automatic authorization:

  • Technology Solutions (TS) API — required fields:
    • client_id
    • client_secret
    • IM-CustomerNumber
  • Cloud API — required fields:
    • Username
    • Password
    • X-Subscription-Key

Marketplace API Activation

  • Log in to Xvantage.
  • In the search bar, type Marketplace API.
  • Add to cart and proceed to checkout.
  • Complete the $0 purchase to activate access.
  • Receive your URLs: Ingram Micro will send back two Remote MCP Server URLs—one for TS and one for Cloud.
Treat these URLs as secrets (like passwords). Do not share or paste them in public channels.

Tool Integration

After receiving the URLs, plug them into your tool. Note: Some tools require paid subscriptions (e.g., Cursor, Windsurf/Codeium, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI API).

Cursor Setup

  • Connection name: Set a custom name (e.g., “Xvantage – TS (Prod)”, “Xvantage – Cloud (Prod)”).
  • Open Cursor → Settings.
  • Go to Integrations / MCP.
  • Add MCP Server → paste TS MCP URL (token embedded) → Name it → Save.
  • Repeat for Cloud MCP URL → Name it → Save.
  • Ensure both are enabled for your workspace.

Quick Test

  • Ask: “Are you connected to the Xvantage – TS (Prod)?” (use your chosen name)
